What comes to mind when you think of New Year's Eve? Yes, fireworks, countdowns, and cocktails, but we can't help but swoon over Mary and Scott's wedding reception, which recently won an award for best team effort by ILEA! Nine degree temperatures didn't stop us from executing an event we meticulously planned over 15 months. Scroll on to see how we rang in 2018 and celebrated Mary and Scott's nuptials below.
You could say that Mary and Scott's reception was a one-of-a-kind, over-the-top, once-in-a-lifetime kind of night. Floral and crystal chandeliers hung from the tent's ceiling, a custom four-tiered cake was devoured, monogrammed floors were danced on, and that's just the beginning.
From black chairs to gilded place settings and bright white florals, we mixed gold with neutral hues and pops of blush throughout the venue to give the night a luxurious vibe fit for New Year's Eve. It made for the perfect setting to ring in the new year.
Florals were the main showstopper of the night — thousands of hanging orchids (yes, really!), oversized vases complemented the large bar in the center of the room, and of course, center pieces to complete each table.
Speaking of the bar, cocktails flowed throughout the night. Since it was New Year's Eve, it was only fitting to have a champagne tower. Because, why not? Signature cocktails were also in order, including White Cosmos and Moscow Mules.
Intricate details were around every corner you turned. Gold leafed flowers in the centerpieces, candles galore, framed photos from the couple's Miami ceremony… you name it.
And when the guests needed a quick break from the mixing and mingling, there was no shortage of comfortable seating. We loved these oversized circular seats scattered throughout the venue.
Then, there was the cake. THE CAKE! Martine's Pastries knocked it out of the park on this one. Custom stencils to achieve crisp, clean gold lines over the entire cake, handmade edible flowers… have you ever seen something more beautiful?
Being that it was New Year's Eve, some resolving was in order. We added a wall of New Year's Resolutions, where guests could take a resolution for the new year, and make a resolution for the newlyweds. It was a total hit!
More than 250 of Mary and Scott's closest family, friends, and loved ones rang in the new year with the happy couple. Cheers to Mary and Scott!
