Being event planners, we've seen some hair faux pas throughout the years, and we've all certainly been there as bridesmaids: You get your hair done at 11AM and the ceremony doesn't start until 5PM. Before you know it, the updo starts to fall and you haven't even made your way down the aisle! To avoid the hair mishaps on your wedding day, we're sharing our top five tips with you below.

1. Prepare:

Our biggest piece of advice? Prepare! Do a trial run a couple months before your wedding so you can guarantee you'll love the style once wedding day arrives. The last thing you want is to have your hair done and hate it. Pro tip: Share inspiration photos with your stylist so she can really understand the style you're going for.

2. Don't Go Crazy:

You're going to want to look back on your wedding photos in the years to come and still love the way your hair looked. Keep it classic and don't go too over the top so you can avoid cringing in 20 years.

3. Long-Lasting:

Let's be honest. Wedding days are LONG. Make sure your hairstyle is built to last, and don't choose a piecey, loose updo that's going to fall after a couple hours. You'll want something that hangs on tight through the ceremony, reception, and, don't forget all of the photos!

4. From Down to Up:

And, if you do decide to wear your hair down, have an updo planned for reception. Once the evening rolls around and you've taken all of your photos, you're going to want to get it out of your face. The last thing you want to be worrying about is your hair through a fun night of dancing!

5. Carry Extras:

When you're dealing with hair, expecting the unexpected is a must. Whether it's a windy day or just plain hot outside, have a bridesmaid carry a few extra bobby pins and hairspray to tame unruly hair and keep everyone looking fresh all day long.
