“We had a wonderful experience working with the LCE team. They all worked so hard to make our special day come to life. They handled every detail flawlessly.”
Lauren Chitwood, President
Lauren is the creative force behind Lauren Chitwood Events. She is an event planner, a director, a floral designer, and a visionary whose top priority is executing successful events for her clients.
Lauren graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Advertising & Public Relations. Since 2004, Lauren has executed incredible events with imagination and a keen eye for detail. She consistently pushes the boundaries of creativity to make sure each of her client’s events are unique. Yet, she remains conscious of a client's’ timeline and budget. She is part-artist, part-engineer, and part-logistician.
Lauren’s work takes her all over the southeastern United States and up the eastern seaboard. No corporate function or wedding is too big or too small. Regional magazines and national outlets including Southern Weddings, Style Me Pretty, InStyle Weddings, and Martha Stewart Weddings have recognized Lauren for her work.
After the confetti has been swept off the floor, and the last vendor truck has left, Lauren savors coming home to her husband Nick and her three children.
Jenny Johnston, Business Manager
Jenny Johnston joined LCE in 2016 after 15 years in the wholesale distribution industry where she managed company events. She has an undergraduate degree from Pomona College in Claremont, CA and a Masters Degree in Business from the University of California. Jenny brings years of marketing, project management and business savvy to LCE.
When she’s not “getting stuff done”, Jenny enjoys working out, throwing pottery, and getting off the grid and into adventures with her husband and two sons.
MAIZIE CLARKE, Senior Event Designer
Maizie joined LCE in 2017. She has over a decade of experience in interior design, illustration, graphic design, and exhibition design. Maizie has an undergraduate degree in Interior Design from Marymount University and a graduate degree in Exhibition Design from the Corcoran College of Art + Design in Washington, D.C.
Raised by parents who let her redecorate her room dozens of times before high school, and encouraged by a sassy grandmother who let her rearrange and style her house, Maizie has been a designer at heart since early childhood.
Erin Trager-Kusman, Travel Liaison
Erin is our in-house travel guru and honeymoon specialist, who handles everything from room blocks and hotel buyouts to making your honeymoon dreams come true. Erin works to connect with our clients on a personal level in order to help curate every travel-related detail surrounding your event, and make sure the honeymoon planning process is fun and stress-free from start to finish. She uses her first hand knowledge and relationships to pull the strings behind the scenes, allowing travelers to enjoy once in a lifetime experiences all over the world.
Erin graduated from Pepperdine University with a degree in Psychology, and also has a Paralegal degree from UCLA. She lives in Louisville with her husband Michael and spends her free time traveling (research!) as well as eating and running, which, in her opinion, are the best two ways to discover a new destination.

Alex Hunnicutt, Production Manager
Alex earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing at The University of Louisville. Alex works closely managing the production team and is instrumental in floral installations. Alex’s love for events came from organizing his first ever event, the “Ice Cream Social”, as president of the student council in the seventh grade.
